Arctic Gourmet Cabin opened in February 2015. The owner Johan have been working as a chef for several years and now wants to give you a wonderful holiday experience- combining nature, fantastic local food and a comfortable stay.
Behind the scenes you find his wife Malin, our children Alivia, Zacharias and Luna as well as our dog Töa and cat Rasmus. Together we'll work to give you a unique experience!

Breakfast
Breakfast is prepared and ready for you whenever you wake up in the morning.
First ones to wake up just need to press the button of the egg-boiler- it will let you know with a beep when they’re ready.
Besides eggs you will find yogurt and granola, as well as a selection of bread with cheeses and cold cut meat.
Warm water are available in the kettle, just press the button to warm it up.
In the coffee machine you can prepare your own espresso or latte to start the day.
Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available if you have informed us prior to arrival.
The restaurant
The Studio
is located next to our outdoor fire place. Here is where breakfast is served in the morning.
We also serve dinner here which have to be ordered in advance. For dinner Johan offers Chef's choice menus. He cooks you local food sitting at "Chef's table" with a panorama view over the mountains & the sky for the possibility of seeing the northern lights.
Entrance to toilet and shower/sauna.
Toilet, shower and sauna
is located in the grey building next to the cabins. To use the toilet- follow the instructions that you find on the wall next to it. Remember: always put the bag in the toilet.
We provide you with organic hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner- we care for our environment so please use them! Here you also find first aid equipment.
The sauna is heated with wood and Johan gets it going in the afternoon if you don't have any other wishes.
The Minibar
in the cabins holds a variety of wine, beer and soft drinks to buy as well as snacks. Pricelist are found next to it.
Warm drinks are provided in the cabins for free.
Key
to lock the cabin is hanging by the door. Press (*) to lock, and just show the key to the door handle to unlock again.
Waste
Help us sort the waste to minimize our ecological footprint.
Activities
In the winter we offer winter activities in collaborartion with other familyrun companies nearby. Want to go for a dogsledding tour, moosesafari by icelandic horses or snowmobile or go icefishing? Talk to Johan and he can help you arrange the tours. We also have cross country skis and snowshoes to borrow for a walk in the area.
Our Story
Johan Löfgren was a chef at Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi when he met Malin Löfgren who worked there as a waitress. While Malin studied to become a sommelier, they fell in love with a small house outside of Kiruna which they also bought.
After many years of working in big hotels, Johan decided to start his own business and with the help of Malin, Arctic Gourmet Cabin came to life. In the village of Kaalasjärvi outside Kiruna, their friends and family assisted in hand building both cabins as well as the restaurant.
Now Johan, Malin and their family of three kids and our dog live next to the cabins, offering a unique experience where you and your loved ones can unplug and re-imagine.
