While Malin studied to become a sommelier, they fell in love with a small house outside of Kiruna which they also bought. After many years of working in big hotels, Johan decided to start his own business and with the help of Malin, Arctic Gourmet Cabin came to life. In the village of Kaalasjärvi outside Kiruna, their friends and family assisted in hand building both cabins as well as the restaurant.
